Inspiration from London
Recently, I had the chance to travel to London and visit the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition — an experience that left me buzzing with new ideas and inspiration. Wandering through such a vast collection of work, I discovered so many interesting artists whose approaches and techniques have really stayed with me.
One of the things I took away was a reminder of the power of black and white. Stripped of color, the focus shifts to form, texture, and contrast — something I’m eager to explore further, especially in my coastal scenes where light and shadow play such a defining role.
I also found myself thinking a lot about the format of storytelling in art. So many of the works weren’t just about what was seen, but about what was suggested — the narratives, emotions, and layers that sit just beneath the surface. This has made me want to dig deeper into my own practice, considering how I can weave more storytelling into my pieces, allowing each work to speak in its own voice.
The trip was a reminder of why it’s so important to step outside of the studio now and then. Inspiration is everywhere — in the work of others, in conversations, and in the simple act of seeing things with fresh eyes. I came home feeling renewed, with new directions to explore and fresh energy to pour into my art.
Exciting News: Upcoming Exhibition
I’m so thrilled to share some exciting news with you all — I’ve been invited to take part in an upcoming exhibition professionally curated by Pixel Aura Galleries. Their vision, “Art without borders or limits,”really resonates with me, and I feel honored to have my work included alongside artists from around the globe.
The piece I submitted for this exhibition is a seascape, a work that reflects both the movement and stillness of the ocean. For me, the sea has always held a duality — vast and powerful, yet deeply meditative and grounding. It felt like the perfect subject to share in a space that celebrates limitless creativity and artistic voices from every corner of the world.
Opportunities like this remind me why I create — art connects us beyond boundaries, inviting us to reflect, to feel, and to see the world in new ways. I can’t wait to see how my work sits within this global conversation. You can currently view this work here pixelauragallery.com and the title of the exhibition is Fragments of Aura.
Finding Stillness Through My Art
It’s been a really busy time for me, both in the studio and in life. Amid the rush of everyday demands, I’ve been pouring myself into a new series of paintings — a body of work that has become a study of self-reflection.
This series has given me the space to pause, to look inward, and to explore the quiet corners of thought and feeling that often get overlooked. Each brushstroke feels like a conversation with myself, each layer of paint a way of uncovering something hidden or unspoken.
One of the works I’ve recently completed focuses on the lily — a flower that has long been a symbol of renewal, growth, and resilience. Painting it, I found myself thinking about how beauty can emerge from murky waters, how light and color can break through the shadows. In many ways, it mirrors my own process: finding clarity in the midst of busyness, and turning reflection into something tangible.
This series isn’t just about the subjects themselves, but about what they represent — patience, balance, and the ongoing journey of becoming. I’m excited to keep building on these ideas and to share more as the collection unfolds.
Sometimes, the act of slowing down with paint and canvas is the most grounding reminder: even in the busiest times, there is room for stillness, growth, and self-discovery.
