Living between the rugged coastlines of Devon and Cornwall, my work is deeply rooted in the natural world that surrounds me. The sea, the shorelines, and the wildlife that inhabit these spaces are constant sources of inspiration. Through painting and traditional printmaking, I explore the dynamic relationship between land, water, and life.

Painting allows me the freedom to respond intuitively to the coastal environment. The fluidity of the brush gives me space to express mood and atmosphere—whether it’s the drama of an incoming tide or the quiet stillness of a harbour at dusk. It’s a process of immersion, where gesture and movement mirror the ever-changing character of the sea.

Printmaking, by contrast, offers a slower, more meditative approach. I’m drawn to its precision and delicacy, especially when depicting the details of marine and coastal wildlife. There’s something grounding in the repetition and craftsmanship of traditional techniques, which helps me focus on the intricate beauty often overlooked in nature.

Together, these two disciplines allow me to balance expression and observation—capturing not only the physical presence of the coast but the emotional resonance it holds for me. My practice is a way of connecting to place, recording fleeting moments, and celebrating the wild, living edge of the land.
